Welcome to TopServer. This Privacy Policy explains how the Site's owner ("we," "our," "us"), operating topserver.live (the "Site") and its Discord bot as an individual, collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the Site or the bot, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account information
If you create an account to list or manage a server, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
1.2 Voting information
When you vote for a server, we record your IP address, the timestamp, and - if the server owner uses personalized vote links - the in-game user ID or username you're voting with. We use this to enforce the 12-hour cooldown between votes and to prevent abuse.
1.3 Server listing information
Server owners provide details about their server (name, description, banner image, connection info) when listing it. This information is public by nature, since the purpose of the Site is to display it to visitors.
1.4 Technical information
We automatically collect browser type, device type, operating system, and general browsing behavior on the Site (pages visited, time spent) for security and analytics purposes.
2. Our Discord Bot
If a server owner chooses to connect their Discord server to TopServer.live, and members choose
to use commands like /link,
our bot may collect and store:
- Your Discord user ID (not your username/password - we never see your Discord credentials)
- The in-game user ID or username you link to your Discord account
- The Discord server (guild) ID, and any role or channel IDs a server admin configures (e.g. the voter role, or the announcement channels)
This data is only used to provide the bot's functionality (personal vote links, the voter role, announcements) for that specific Discord server, and is tied to the server admin's own choice to enable it - it is never sold or shared for advertising.
3. Payments
When you purchase Premium or Featured for a server, payment is processed by PayPal or NOWPayments (cryptocurrency) - we never see or store your card number, bank details, or crypto wallet keys. We store the transaction reference, amount, currency, payment status, and the confirmation data those providers send us, so we can activate your purchase and provide support if something goes wrong.
5. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the Site: display rankings, process votes, run the Discord bot, and process Premium/Featured purchases.
- To communicate with you about your account, purchases, or support requests.
- To detect and prevent fraud, vote manipulation, and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously.
